Leave camp at 7AM. A good days journey with numerous portages. Photograph Red Rock Falls.. The scenery at this end of our journey is very interesting – well wooded or rocky shores. The finest view we found on entering Matapawaing Lake where the Hollow Sand Falls pour down in two branches from the Matagaming River. DCS photographs both of these. One is a broad low sheet of water pouring down with great force. The other is hurled from forty feet down a narrow gorge & is the finer of the two. Rain in the middle of the afternoon. We camp at 7 having made nearly thirty miles.
